Mr. David C. Borlo is a Managing Partner at Crestlight Venture Partners, LLC. He represents the firm as a Founding Managing Partner. As a senior leader at the firm with an extreme passion to motivate progressive change, he stands at the helm of fundraising, investor relations, portfolio development, operations, and marketing, driving innovation and development for various companies. Prior to Crestlight Venture Partners, LLC and since March 2009, Mr. Borlo served as Corporate Vice President, Strategic Initiatives for a private equity funded turn around at AMI Entertainment. As a member of the executive team, he proactively pioneered new products; opened new markets and sales channels; and led the restructuring a strategic business unit, saving millions in operating cost and slashing sales cycles by engineering a new growth strategy and process. He was responsible for unveiling new products, launching new markets and initiating fresh sales channels. Mr. Borlo’s focus was on the general management and execution for new product and market development; client and strategic partner relations; reseller channel development; and sales for regional and national accounts. Mr. Borlo served as Vice President of Business Development at DVDPlay, Inc. since March 2007. Mr. Borlo was responsible for managing the development and implementation of the global sales strategy of DVDPlay inking deals with 7-Eleven, Barnes &Noble and Burger King within 12 months. Prior, he spent ten years as Managing Director and Chie Executive Officer of two companies he founded and successfully exited after building them to $50M+ in value. Mr. Borlo is a proven revenue catalyst in the entertainment, advertising, and retail industries. Prior to joining DVDPlay, Mr. Borlo was Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Allure Fusion Media. Mr. Borlo has consulted as a Digital Media Specialist for global retailers and global agencies, led innovation in digital signage and serves as Director of start up companies. Early in his career, Mr. Borlo was the Director of International Business Development at Frankel. He began his industry career at Earwax Productions where he quickly rose through the ranks to General Manager of interactive media. While in college he helped launch a division of Earwax Productions to develop interactive projects. Over two decades he has proven his keen insight to strategic planning, broad thinking and idea generation and his extreme passion for positive change. With special focus on driving profit via internal and external business development, client engagement and relationship development, he has a sharp intuitive understanding of existing and emerging markets. Mr. Borlo’s 20 years of entrepreneurial experience in domestic and international markets, a unique blend of senior leadership, corporate development, business development, sales, and mentoring to every task he pursues. He fully engages, shapes and advances both clients and investors in existing and emerging markets, while driving profit via internal and external means. Mr. Borlo has over two decades of engineering successes inside high-growth digital media industries at both start-ups and mid-size corporations. He has directed value creation strategies, implemented product innovation and generated revenue growth with Fortune 500 companies. He is named on a software patent and helped pioneer the digital signage industry by leading two industry-first partnerships with IBM and Coca-Cola. Mr. Borlo received a B.A. in Communication from St. Mary’s College of California.
