Career stats: Joined AV in 2009; former Dakota Venture Group. Graduate of the University of North Dakota and North Dakota State University.
Words that describe me: Curious. Focused. Patient. Perpetual Student. Running. Traveling. Husband. Family. Lakes. Fargo. #SkolVikings. Rap Caviar. Emerging Prairie.
Why I joined Arthur Ventures: I believe in James’ vision to build a world-class venture firm by bringing a partnership philosophy to supporting fast growing companies outside Silicon Valley. Software is the greatest extension of human ability and the heartbeat of all future technology, so the opportunity to join an amazing team working alongside the best entrepreneurs advancing the human condition was a no-brainer. I joined AV right out of undergrad and have never looked back.
The most successful founders I work with: Lead with conviction. Conviction leads teams into uncharted waters. Conviction shows why the future is certain. Conviction leads to inevitable success.
On venture capital: Cash is a commodity, but the people you choose to be by your side are assets.
What founders should know about me: I believe serving founders is a noble cause. I care deeply about being a trusted partner and helping our teams win. Outside of AV, you’ll likely find me on a running path, floating on one of Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes, or attempting to finish the backlog of books in my bookshelf. I live in the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis with my beautiful wife, Colie.
